Code of Conduct and Levels of Disciplinary Actions
at the Canadian Academy of Libya

Introduction
The Canadian Academy of Libya has established a Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility. This Code outlines the expected standards of behavior for all enrolled students, emphasizing integrity, respect, and professionalism in their interactions within the school community and beyond.
Academic Integrity
Students must engage in honest academic practices, including original work and proper citation. Cheating, plagiarism, and any form of dishonesty, such as copying assignments or exams, are strictly prohibited. Academic misconduct that compromises the integrity of assessments, examinations, or evaluations is not tolerated.
Respectful Behavior
All members of the school community, including peers, teachers, staff, and guests, must be treated with respect, courtesy, and dignity. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or intimidation based on protected characteristics are strictly prohibited. Students are expected to demonstrate respect for personal and cultural differences, fostering an inclusive and accepting environment.
Responsible Digital Citizenship
Students must responsibly and ethically use technology and digital resources, adhering to the school’s acceptable use policy. Cyberbullying, harassment, unauthorized system access, and any other form of online misconduct are strictly prohibited. Respecting privacy and intellectual property rights, unauthorized sharing, reproduction, or distribution of digital content is not allowed.
Attendance and Punctuality
Regular and punctual attendance is expected, with students arriving prepared and ready to engage in learning activities. Absences should be communicated in advance, whenever possible, and supported by valid reasons. Excessive tardiness or unexcused absences may result in academic consequences, following the school’s attendance policy.
Dress Code
Students are required to adhere to the school’s dress code policy, maintaining a neat, clean, and appropriate appearance. Clothing or accessories displaying offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate messages or symbols are not permitted. Professionalism and respect for the learning environment should be reflected in students’ dress.
Safety and Security
Students must prioritize their safety and that of others by reporting potential threats or concerns to school authorities. Possession, or use of any unnotarized materials on school premises are strictly prohibited. Compliance with safety guidelines and protocols, including emergency procedures and evacuation drills, is mandatory.
Extracurricular Activities and Events
Participation in extracurricular activities requires adherence to rules, regulations, and guidelines set by the school and relevant authorities. Respectful behavior, sportsmanship, and teamwork are expected during extracurricular activities. Misconduct or violations of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including restriction or removal from participation.
Compliance and Consequences
Students must comply with the instructions and directions of school personnel. Violations of the Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary actions, ranging from counseling and warnings to probation, suspension, expulsion, or other appropriate consequences, as determined by the school administration.
Inspection Procedures at School
In cases there are reasonable grounds to suspect that a student may be in possession of prohibited substances according to the school’s rules or that pose a threat to the safety and well-being of the school community, the educational institution reserves the right to conduct inspections. These inspection operations may include, but are not limited to, inspections of personal belongings, such as bags and lockers, as well as the examination of metal detection devices if necessary. It is expected that students will fully cooperate with school officials during inspection procedures.
