Mr. Yousef Al-Saiti, Executive Director of the Canadian Foundation, attended and participated in the Fourth International Conference on Education in the Arab World, which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the period from January 26 to 28, 2024.
The conference witnessed a large participation of experts and researchers, and hosted multiple workshops, research presentations, and lectures.
The conference objectives revolved around:
Scientific developments and recent research in the field of education
Improving the quality of scientific research and keeping pace with the requirements of the times
Visioning the future of education in the Arab world and benefiting from international experiences in this field.
Leaders of higher and public education, deans and deans of colleges of education in public and private universities, faculty members, educational supervisors, teachers, student counselors, graduate students interested in education, and researchers participated in the conference.

Training package for structural engineers, architects and site engineers
The Canadian Education and Training Foundation announced the launch of an integrated training package next March designed specifically for civil and structural engineers. This portfolio includes a set of specialized training courses that aim to develop the technical and cognitive skills necessary to work in multiple fields.

The package includes the following courses:

Site Engineer Preparation Course: This course focuses on providing engineers with the practical skills necessary to manage, supervise and coordinate site work. The course will cover topics such as reading engineering blueprints, managing time and resources, and communicating with different teams.

Technical Office Engineer Preparation Course: This course aims to develop engineers’ skills in preparing technical drawings and detailed designs. Participants will learn how to use computer programs specialized in engineering drawing and project management.

Quantity calculation and abstracts course: This course is considered essential for civil and structural engineers. The course will cover the concepts of calculating quantities and preparing abstracts, including the use of computer programs specialized in this field.

Contracts and Bids Course: This course aims to introduce engineers to the basic concepts of contracts and bids in the field of civil and construction engineering. The course will cover aspects such as preparing technical and financial proposals, managing contracts, and resolving potential disputes.

The training package is distinguished by the presence of lecturers with extensive experience in the field of civil and structural engineering. Lectures and practical sessions will be delivered interactively to enhance participants’ understanding and application of theoretical concepts in practical cases.

Eastern Region Robotics Qualifiers
The Eastern Region qualifiers for the FTC (First Tech Charge) Robotics Championship kicked off in Benghazi. Teams from different cities participated in the tournament, and some students of different nationalities were registered.
This tournament is organized by the Robotics and Automation Club at the University of Benghazi Business Incubator in cooperation with the Libyan Academy for Communications and Informatics, and comes within the vision of the Telecommunications Holding Company for digital transformation towards a smart citizen, smart companies and cities. The event was hosted by the Canadian Education and Training Foundation.
This tournament bears the slogan “Smart Citizens… Smart Companies… Smart Cities… Smart Country (4SC_2025)” and comes within the #Lipotex initiative – Together for a Better Libya, and includes the fields of technology, science, robotics and the flow of knowledge.

Launching specialized training courses in word processing and obtaining the International Computer Driving License

The Canadian Education and Training Corporation announced the launch of a series of specialized training courses in word processing and obtaining the International Computer Driving License. These courses aim to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the fields of editing, writing, and software development.

The word processing course aims to train participants in effective text analysis and editing techniques. Participants will learn how to improve the flow, accuracy, and organization of texts, as well as use text processing and proofreading tools.
The launch of these training courses is a response to the growing demand for technical skills in the labor market. Employers look for workers with knowledge and skills in the areas of word processing and software development. The workshops, which were under the umbrella of the Ministry of Investment, were concluded with the direct support and encouragement of His Excellency the Minister of Investment, Mr. Ali Al-Saidi, and at the initiative and organization of the Ministry’s Human Resources Department, which were launched in the city of Benghazi at the Canadian Development Corporation 21 days ago.
This comes within the framework of joint cooperation and the tireless effort to support and empower youth and produce youth capabilities capable of achieving development and advancement.
The Human Resources Department, in cooperation with the Canadian Development Corporation, hosted a scientific symposium entitled Towards a future vision for developing the role of e-commerce in attracting foreign investments. The workshops included many important topics that concerned the attendees, in which a group of people interested in this matter participated, while viewpoints were exchanged. different opinions and sharing opinions among them during this period.
This comes to support the production of youth energies that are intellectually and practically capable of providing their best in the field of electronic commerce and its important role at the present time in raising the wheels of the countries’ economies.
This is to give a clear picture of the ways through which international customers can be reached. The workshops also shed light on the tools and means of electronic marketing and to prepare young people to be among the national leaders who raise the country’s advancement to the highest levels.

End of the professional course in electronic business management
The Canadian Education and Training Foundation celebrated the successful conclusion of its professional course in e-business management last Tuesday. The number of course participants exceeded all expectations, indicating the growing demand for knowledge and skills in the field of e-business management.

This comes within the framework of joint cooperation and the tireless effort to support and empower youth and produce youth capabilities capable of achieving development and advancement.
The Human Resources Department, in cooperation with the Canadian Development Corporation, hosted a scientific symposium entitled Towards a future vision for developing the role of e-commerce in attracting foreign investments.
The symposium included many important topics that concerned the attendees, in which a group of people interested in this matter participated, while different points of view were listened to and opinions were shared among them.
This comes to support the production of youth energies that are intellectually and practically capable of providing their best in the field of electronic commerce and its important role at the present time in raising the countries’ economies.
This is to give a clear picture of the methods through which international customers can be reached to export products. The workshop also sheds light on the tools and means of electronic marketing and to prepare young people to be among the national leaders who raise the wheel of progress. The attendees presented their contributions during the workshop and their points of view were exchanged. Considering to enrich the discussion, the outcome of this experience was good for identifying the level of commercial awareness. This workshop will continue into several mini-workshops for several days.
